Never fails to fascinate me how people show their appreciation or attempt to connect. Today a guy walked all the way over, the entire length of the platform, eyes fixed on me and smiling, not to tell.me something or drop a dollar in my case, no….he walked over to gently touch my strumming hand while I was singing. He touched it & walked away. #NYC #Busk Photo –Henning Fischer

Guy on train, after pokin’ around, trying to find a place to put a dollar while I’m singing: “That was just a test”
Me: “A test?”
Guy: “A test, to see if you’d stop or keep singing”
Me: “Haha – I never stop unless you have a gun, a walkie & a badge” 🙂

So – tonight, as I was waiting for a spot on the Uptown A C E, I sat down on the bench & asked the girl next to me for the time. “Five o’clock” she said checking her iPhone…”Oh and hey, you know, I think I know you…” And she looked down at her phone again & began scrolling through photos…”Yeah. look…” she said as she turned the phone face towards me & right there, staring back at me is me busking the exact same spot a few months back. Subway Randomness in NYC 🙂

Sitting on bench, waiting @Times Square for Downtown “A” train & and a guy walks by, puts his arm in the air & announces; “The incomparable Heidi Kole!” I look over & the guy smiling at me, adds, “Where’s your amp?” – not knowing him for the life of me, I answered kind of softly; “I’m actually just going downtown to the guitar store, so don’t have my amp” “Rock on Heidi Kole – we are the 99%!” he shouted as the train doors closed on his huge smile, his arm shot up in the air topped by his hand clenched in an occupy fist. This city’s eternally craaaazy : ) ♥

Hey guys – so you know the movie I went off to southern France to film/do stunts for in the middle of the book? Well…it’s finally time for it’s premier, which means it’s time for the cast & crew (including yours truly) to walk the Red Carpet. so, yes, I’ll be above ground for a night : )
Here’s the invite and some fun bits of info I thought you’d like to peruse – ya’ know, in case you were wondering how that all turned out…
Subject: Invitation To A Red Carpet
Date: Mon, 26 Jul 2010 12:25:39 -0700 (PDT)
Hi Heidi,
The New York International Film Festival has invited us to have a “Red Carpet” New York premiere of our film, “Tied To A Chair.” The event will be this Thursday, July 29th, 2010. As photographers, press and cable interviews are scheduled, the cast and crew are asked to arrive in their “red carpet attire” (fancy dress) at 7:30, or earlier if they would like to change when they arrive. All interviews and photographs are planned to be inside the theater where there is air conditioning! The screening will be at 8:00 P. M.
The theater is:
Village East Cinemas, Screen 2
181 Second Avenue (at East 12th Street)
New York 10003
and I very much hope you can attend.
Here is the link to the trailer:

The film received the “Best In Festival” Tammie Award at the Tamworth International Film Festival 2009, and here is the film’s first review, garnered at the Del Ray Beach Film Festival just a few weeks ago:
I do hope you can be there. I would love to see you.
Warmly,
Bonnie Loren – “Tied To A Chair”
